Night of 11th Rabi ul Awal
شبِ میلاد
The luminous night before 12 Rabi ul Awal, kept awake with naat, durood and salam until the dawn of the blessed birth.
The eleventh night of Rabi ul Awal is the eve of the most joyful day in the life of the Ummah. Homes, streets and the Astana are lit with lamps, and hearts are lit with longing.
Lovers of the Prophet ﷺ gather after Isha and keep the night alive with recitation of the Qur'an, naat shareef, durood and the standing salam, welcoming the dawn on which the Mercy to the Worlds ﷺ arrived.
لَقَدْ جَاءَكُمْ رَسُولٌ مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ عَزِيزٌ عَلَيْهِ مَا عَنِتُّمْ حَرِيصٌ عَلَيْكُم بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ رَءُوفٌ رَّحِيمٌ
“There has certainly come to you a Messenger from among yourselves. Your hardship weighs heavily upon him; he is deeply concerned for you, and to the believers he is kind and merciful.”
Surah At-Tawbah 9:128
