Annually, as announced by the Astana
عرسِ مبارک
The annual remembrance of the friends of Allah: Quran Khwani, Chadar Poshi, Mehfil-e-Sama and dua at the blessed resting place.
'Urs' means a wedding. The friends of Allah do not die as others do; they pass into the presence of the One they loved. The day of their return is remembered not with grief, but with gratitude for lives spent wholly for Allah.
The Urs at the Astana brings together Quran Khwani, Ghusl and Chadar Poshi of the blessed shrine, Mehfil-e-Sama, scholarly bayans and an open langar. Above all it is a reminder of what a life of sincerity, service and adab can become.
أَلَا إِنَّ أَوْلِيَاءَ اللَّهِ لَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ
“Know that the friends of Allah: no fear shall come upon them, nor shall they grieve.”
Surah Yunus 10:62
